Interview

Separate interviews with the applicant and parent are scheduled after receiving your application. Interviews lasting approximately 45 minutes will be scheduled during the weekday. The interview session does take into consideration the applicant’s age, so children who are scheduled early will not be at a disadvantage.

Testing

Grade 1-6 applicants will be scheduled for an achievement test on March 4, 2017. The test will take approximately two to two-and-a-half hours depending on the grade. Grades 1-3 admissions tests are generally shorter than grades 4-6 admission tests.

Selection Process

Students are selected for admission on the basis of performance on achievement tests (grades 1-6), developmental test (Kindergarten) administered by HBA, teacher recommendations and current progress reports. Because of the limited enrollment in each grade level, only those students who demonstrate a potential for success with our school programs are admitted.

Decision

After tests results, recommendation forms, interview, school report cards and all other pertinent data are evaluated, notification of the admission decision will be made. You can expect to receive a decision letter from us according to the following timetable:
  • Grades 6- Decision letters mailed out after March 15. Date to reply: April 15
  • Grades 1-5: Decision letters mailed out before April 15. Date to reply: May 10

Admissions notification continues as long as there are vacancies. Students on the waiting list will be notified when an opening occurs.

Acceptance Information

The Admissions Office will try to keep you informed of the status of your application. Your questions or special concerns will receive individual attention from the admissions staff.
